Biblical references...
Matthew 6:12... and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors... (some bible version say it more clearly where they say "forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us").
Matthew 6:14-15... For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
John 3:16-17... “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
John 8:23-24... He said to them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.”
John 14:6... Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Romans 6:23... For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9... because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
1st Corinthians 15:3-4... For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
Ephesians 1:7... In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
Ephesians 2:8... For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
1st Thessalonians 5:16-18... Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Hebrews 9:19-22... For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship. Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
1st Peter 1:18-19... knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
1st John 1:9... If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Discussion Thoughts... "Shedding of Blood"...
To understand why we can only be saved by believing in Jesus we need to first understand that from the beginning of the world God told his people to sacrifice animals by the spilling of their blood... and these were not just any animal... (1st Peter 1:19) they were animals without blemish or spot. When God sent his only son (the perfect one with no blemish or spot) to earth (John 3:16) to be crucified by shedding of his blood on the cross; this was simply continuing the practice of blood being shed for the forgiveness of sins... as it says in Hebrews 9:19-22 "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins"! Ephesians 1:7 says it very clearly... In Him (Jesus) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses.
Discussion Thoughts... "The promise of forgiveness and eternal life"... John 3:16 probably says it best... but Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 1:7, and 1st John 1:9 all say the same thing!
My Beliefs... Before answering "How Can Our Daily Sins be Forgiven" it is important to understand why our sins will be forgiven... Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed his blood to insure that those who believe in Him will be forgiven when they make mistakes (SIN) and pray that their sins will be forgiven (1st John 1:9 explains it best)!
The question "How Can Our Daily Sins be Forgiven"... --- Sins can be forgiven in several ways (1) Pray the Lords Prayer... as written above in Matthew 6:12... we pray that our debts be forgiven as we forgive our debtors. (2) Matthew 6:14-15... says if you forgive their their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you... (but be aware what the 2nd part of that verse says)... but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (3) Romans 10:9... because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (4) 1st Thessalonians 5:16-18... Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (5) Again I refer to one of my favorite scriptures... 1st John 1:9... If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
