Discussion Thoughts...
Scripture teaches that activities in heaven will include harps, pipers, worship, singing, assigned tasks, eating and drinking...Psalms 87:7 talks about singing and music... scholars are inconclusive over where this is taking place... it may be Jerusalem of old testament times or it may mean the "New Jerusalem (Heaven)" of the final resurrection! Revelations 5, 14, and 15 talk about singing, harpists, and choirs in Heaven. Revelation 22:3 says his servants (believers who are in Heaven) shall serve him... Revelation 7:15-16 explains who the "servants" are (believers who are in Heaven). John 5:17 tells about God and Jesus working; it seems inconceivable that God and Jesus would be working and we would be sitting idle... one can only assume we would also have tasks (someone would have to pick the fruit or maybe the angels do that)! Eating and drinking... the various scriptures tell about fruit from the tree of life, and that we will never again be hungry or thirsty... also mentioned are feasts and banquets! Jesus himself in Matthew 26:29 and Mark 14:25 said he would be drinking!
My Beliefs... Whatever we will be doing in Heaven (Paradise), we can be sure it will be wonderful beyond our imaginations! The scriptures are clear that, among many other things we will be doing in heaven, there will be music, singing, work, eating, drinking and worship! The “work” we will perform in heaven will be quite unlike our accustomed work in this world... our "task" in eternity will simply be to serve and worship our Savior!
